Frequently Asked Questions
How does Far South Counselling work?
We have our Fish Hoek practice for individuals who are able to afford the standard rates: The Family Counselling Centre.
Far South Counselling encompasses our Counselling Clinic and Legal Clinic: they are donation-based mental health and legal services where individuals pay a rate they can afford.
What does "donation-based" mean?
Individuals and organisations who share our passion for accessible mental health services raise funds to support our NPO side of the FSC. Individuals who visit FSC pay any amount they can afford at the time.
Are my sessions confidential?
Therapy is absolutely confidential. Your therapist is required to maintain confidentiality about everything said in sessions between the two of you, unless there is a risk to self or others, or a child is in danger. In this scenario, we are legally required to report.
