Keren Shaulov

Keren is an apprentice at the Counselling Centre. She strongly values authenticity, self-compassion and empathy. In 2019, she completed a Bachelor of Social Sciences majoring in Psychology and Sociology at UCT. In 2020, she completed an Honours degree in Psychology at UCT. Keren is passionate about holistic wellness and sees the mind and body as interconnected. She is also passionate about women's health and cycle awareness.

Keren joined the Apprenticeship program to help build her confidence and practical experience in pursuing the field of counselling. She liked the idea of receiving regular, consistent support and supervision from her mentors throughout the duration of the program. She wanted to be a part of a program that bridges the gap between the theoretical knowledge learnt in university and the practical, professional field of counselling. She thrives in the program's small, intimate group which allows for engaging and personal discussions. She enjoys practising role play therapy sessions which prepare her for counselling actual clients. She is currently seeing clients in the donation-based clinic.
